Who We Are

St Margaret’s is a parish church in the charter town of Altrincham, Cheshire in the United Kingdom. We are one of two parishes in the benefice of Dunham Massey part of the Diocese of Chester and the worldwide Anglican Communion.

We are a diverse group of people from all walks of life, all ages and various cultures. We enjoy worshipping together and following our own spiritual path through the nuts and bolts of daily life.

We share in all kinds of activities; worship, sunday school, car boot sales, ceilidhs, concerts, bell ringing, music, weddings, baptisms, funerals, study groups, coffee afternoons, fellowships to name but a few.

Our desire is to be an open place of encouragement and affirmation for all who come through our doors. Whether you are a regular church member , an occasional attender or a ‘first timer’ your support is most important to us.

We take the bible seriously, and try to understand it in the light of our experience and our diversity. We seek to understand the Bible in the light of that same experience and diversity, and of what this age knows and biblical writers could not know.

The grade 2* listed church building is a wonderful example of the Victorian Gothic school of architecture. The building lifts the eye and the spirits. From the angel arch hammer beam ceiling to the painted plaster chancel roof the sense of presence and awe is almost tangible.

We are conveniently situated on the A556 the main thoroughfare into Manchester. We have ample off road car parking.
